A post about a whistleblower claiming that Vice President Kamala Harris received the exact questions ahead of her Sept. 10 debate with former President Donald Trump made the rounds on social media over the weekend.
According to a Sept. 12 post by the Black Insurrectionist account on X, the whistleblower outlined his claims in an affidavit. It states how the Harris campaign was given sample questions, which were essentially the same questions given during the debate. The affidavit also noted how ABC News assured that Trump would be fact-checked and Harris wouldn’t be.
The whistleblower claimed in his affidavit that several other factors were built into the debate to give Harris a distinct advantage. The affidavit dated Sept. 9 was signed and notarized before the debate took place.
Independent journalist Kyle Becker said that while the accuracy of the claim remains to be seen, it would hardly be a surprise that this is true. He added that the whistleblower signed the affidavit in New York and sent a copy to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
“The unnamed individual states that he … has secret recordings that will prove that ABC News rigged the presidential debate. ABC News committed election interference. This is a massive scandal,” Becker wrote. (Related: Trump campaign fact-checks Kamala Harris point by point after biased moderators fail to call out her lies during debate — here are the details.)
According to Modernity News, the ABC News whistleblower isn’t a Trump supporter but just someone who saw the debate being rigged in favor of the Democratic presidential nominee.
“For the record, I do not endorse Donald Trump in his capacity as candidate for president of the United States. The intent of this affidavit is to address concerns regarding perceived biases within news reporting within my employer’s debate that will be hosted on Sept. 10, 2024,” he indicated.
On Sept. 13, three days after Trump and Harris faced off, the whistleblower was reported to have died in a car crash in Maryland. U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) initially broke the news on Sept. 15.
“The ABC whistleblower who claimed Harris was given debate questions ahead of the debate has died in a car crash, according to news reports,” she tweeted. However, the congresswoman for the Peach State did not cite any credible sources. Greene later backtracked on her initial post, writing: “I’m so glad reports of him being killed in a car wreck are false.”
“This story appears to be false and I’m glad to hear it. We need a serious investigation into the whistleblower’s report that Kamala Harris was given debate questions ahead of time from ABC,” she wrote in a separate reply.
Even the Black Insurrectionist confirmed that the whistleblower is indeed alive, replying to a question about the whistleblower’s death in the negative.
“I am aware of the news reports regarding that the ABC whistleblower has died in a car accident. To my knowledge, the whistleblower has not been killed, but I have not spoken with [him].”
