The American Pravda media is continuing its effort to shield young David Hogg, its latest anti-gun darling, from well-deserved criticism as part of the Left’s never-ending war against the Second Amendment.
In recent days the Natural News Network was contacted by reporters from NBC News inquiring about one of our latest website additions, HoggWatch, no doubt as part of a hit piece the network is planning in an effort to attempt to discredit us.
While asking yourself why a major news network is devoting time and resources to finding out about HoggWatch and its origins and traffic, let’s remember that we’re likely being targeted by people who — while seeking to discredit us — still have one of the greatest fake news wizards and serial liar on the payroll: Brian Williams, the network’s former nightly news anchor.
Williams, you may recall, for years told a shape-shifting story about being aboard a U.S. Army helicopter during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Later iterations of the story had the chopper being stricken by enemy fire and forced down. After being called out for the lie, Williams couldn’t help but fib again: He called his recollections a “mistake” and admitted that yeah, the chopper that was hit was actually one that was well ahead of his. “I would not have chosen to make this mistake. I don’t know what screwed up in my mind that caused me to conflate one aircraft with another,” he told military pub Stars and Stripes in February 2015.
Really? You would ‘not have chosen’ to do so? I don’t know about anyone else, but I can remember my hellish military helicopter rides out of the scores I’ve taken; a few were pretty ‘memorable,’ you might say. So I’d have to believe that if I were traveling in one that was shot down, I’d remember every last detail. Likewise, the times I’ve been shot at and in or near MRAPs struck by an IED.
Anyway, judge for yourself the veracity of Williams’ claims and resulting explanations for making said claims. He did apologize, but only after he was called out by some vets who were aboard the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook helicopter that was actually hit by two rockets and small arms fire. They told Stars and Stripes Williams was nowhere near that chopper or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire.
Nevertheless, the point is the man still has a job, and he has one at NBC. (Related: SICK TV: NBC depicts brutal rape of “Ann Coulter” character in Law & Order episode, radical Antifa assailant goes free.)
Well, sort of. After a six-month suspension without pay, he was rehired/reassigned to MSNBC, where he is in good company with other liars, charlatans, hacks, and Alt-Left stooges so afflicted by chronic Trump Derangement Syndrome they actually believe they have an audience.
That’s not all. In September, the network bombed a “Russiagate” ‘bombshell’ involving former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. Under the headline, “Manafort Notes From Russian Meet Contain Cryptic Reference to ‘Donations,’” the network report opened:
Paul Manafort’s notes from a controversial Trump Tower meeting with Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign included the word “donations,” near a reference to the Republican National Committee, two sources briefed on the evidence told NBC News.
Later the report added this line: “It is illegal for foreigners to donate to American elections.”
Daunting? Yeah, if it were true. It wasn’t. Within four hours, Breitbart News reported, the network ‘corrected’ its story, nothing that notes about the meeting did not contain the word “donations.” Rather, the word “donor” was contained therein, which was so innocuous even the reliably Left-wing Politico said so.
No wonder nearly three of four Americans see all media as “fake news.”
So we trotted out a website focusing on young Mr. Hogg. So what? Why is that of concern to a national news network? Is young Mr. Hogg above reproach?
We don’t think so. And another thing: At least the stories we publish there will be true.
